Sources close to the mayor tell us, that the outgoing mayor is just crushed over a crash that occurred one week ago between a city FDNY Ambulance and a Sanitation truck. The mayor had a big surprise for all city workers, for years he’s been secretly putting a few dollars away each year for the past 12 for his last year in office. This being it, he wanted to surprise all city workers except one group and give them all a $500 dollar Holiday bonus.

Originally it was going to be a Christmas bonus but one group threatened to sue for the term, so now its a holiday bonus. All city workers except those “God dam Parking meter ticket agents, the NYPD’s Traffic division. No one likes them,” stated the mayor, “they would ticket their own mother’s!” Mayor Bloomberg admitted to having his official NYC mayor’s vehicle ticketed by them over 1000 times in the course of his term as mayor even though he has Official plates that read “NYC IS MY BITCH”
Regardless, When the 2 city vehicle’s collided both were deemed totaled and that’s were the money problem comes in. A city Ambulance cost about 1.3 million fully stocked and the Garbage truck 3.2 million, with a fiscal issue going on there is no choice but to take the money out of the holiday fund and use it to pay for 2 new city’s trucks. This depressed the mayor deeply said his top aid. “He really loves his workers and wanted this to be his outgoing gift to them. $500 isn’t a lot but it was from his heart.” Still he was mad, The ambulance with its emergency lights and sirens on as per witnesses still has to yield to the Sanitation truck as per city rules. YES you read that right according to Mr. Duffman a city law spokesman the Sanitation dept. is the third city service and the city’s EMS is the fourth making and giving the garbage trucks full right of way over city Ambulances.
The mayor admits it sounds like a dumb rule but if there were no garbage pick ups there would be rat infestations and diseases all over NYC, but if you need a Ambulance you can take one or a Taxi or use the MTA. You can’t put your garbage in a taxi or city train or bus, that’s why they are the third and more important service.
Still this is not about that, this is about a Holiday bonus that has no chance of making it to the city worker and the mayor is saddened by this. The mayor wished all members involved in this city crash the best and hoped for a speedy recovery and thanked god it wasn’t a fire truck. But EMS and Garbage guys are dedicated hard working they will be back full duty in no time. It was a point of this writer/reporter to wish the city workers involved a ” get well soon” as well. So there you have it, looks like there will be no holiday bonuses this year, just like every other year. The NYPD Traffic’s dept released this official comment, ” After the hurtful comments that the mayor made about out hard working agents and not including them in the holiday bonus list, the dept has issued a Tow On Sight Order for the mayors official vehicle and personal one as well.
