Newly Established HIPAA Police to Target Medic Students

A newly formed HIPAA Compliance Agency has stated that their first order of business will be to target Paramedic Students who have used the FISDAP program.  According to Special Agent in Charge Huedon Car, HIPAA policies have been violated since the program began in 1996.  “Thousands, if not MILLIONS of patient records have been placed on FISDAP’s servers, violating patient confidentiality.  These paramedic students are just as guilty as FISDAP is.  They should all know what HIPAA is, and should have known better than to place these patient records on a public server.” stated Special Agent in Charge Car.

As far as what the punishments may be, students could be looking at a MINIMUM of being thrown out of their programs.  Those who have already completed their paramedic, may have their Paramedic licenses revoked.  Due to their involvement in the process of FISDAP, Instructors will also be facing the same fate.  As well as revocation of licenses, the HIPAA Compliance Agency has also stated that a class action suit has been filed.  A source within the US Circuit Court in Washington, DC speaking under anonymity, has confirmed that the lawsuit has been filed as of today.  To be named in the suit will be the FISDAP Corporation.  Victims are also looking to have the individual students to be named as well.

“I had no idea my personal information was being put onto such a public place,” said one victim who wishes to be kept anonymous at this time. “I trusted these medical professionals.  And now my information is just out there for anyone to read.  It’s embarrassing.”

More details are likely to be released in the next couple of weeks.
