SWAT team out of ammo after “awesome” training weekend

The chief of Police in Loveland Colorado admitted today, his department is out of ammo. The stockroom is empty. Officers only have access to the ammo that is currently on their duty belts. When asked how this happend the chief was honest “our SWAT team had an awesome weekend at the shooting range”.

SWAT Team shooting

A SWAT team member shooting

The Loveland police SWAT team trains about once a month. Some months they practice techniques like room clearing, or active shooter response. But this past weekend the SWAT Team was working on marksmenship.

An anonymus SWAT team member told us. “It started with one guy betting another over who could hit more bullseyes in a row. Next thing you know people are daring each others to try trick shots. It was like an episode of that show “Top Shot” was taking place on our shooting range.”

A second anonymus SWAT team member said. “I won a bet for $50 just for making a stupid shot. next thing I know guys are betting if I can repeat that shot. Then they are betting if other guys can replicate that shot also. Next thing you know guys are going back to the PD to get more ammo to run more contests.”

The chief said that he does not agree nor does he like what took place but he understands why it did. “Our SWAT team is the best of the best. These guys started to try to prove who was the absolute best shot and next thing you know all the bullets are gone. For a SWAT team, team building is an important thing. Lets face it… friendly contests help develop comradery.”

When city leaders asked if how the chief plans to fix this issue the said this. “We had a lot of guys win a lot of money on their little bets. So the big winners will be expected to buy some new ammo for the dept.”
