For years When a Police officer or Fire Fighter needed a City Ambulance they would ask for a ” BUS” a Slang name for a Ambulance. You would constantly hear on the radio ” Central Rush the Bus’ A term Used By the NYPD division when a Police officer wanted to go home on time or simply didn’t feel like waiting too long. Fire would do the same rush the bus here, rush the bus there. No one ever asked for a Ambulance.

FDNY Bus
We stopped by a station in East new York on Pennsylvania ave, Brooklyn To get some comments. One EMT Nick Named Speed had this to say ” Man we need some new trucks, mine is older than god. Official records indicate that he actually is right, the Truck he drives took Jesus Christ to the Morgue after the Crucifixion” Another admits to getting a group of kids to push his 2 miles in the great blizzard of 2010 when the engine died. Employees all over are complaining and as of right now the city is unsure of what and how it will get money to buy new ambulances.
One chief wants the agency to simply put the Buses into use, so next time you call 911 for a NYC Ambulance you better have a metro card cause a real looking bus might just show up at your door.
