Harmon Police Chief Eddie Adams says he will not be disciplining one of his officers who it turns out has a past as an adult film actress. Officer Becky Barnett, whose acting name was Gabby Gazongas, was recently outed as a former porn star by students at South Harmon Institute of Technology.
According to Chief Adams officer Barnett did not lie about her past on her job application. The city was never aware of her past as a porn star due to an incomplete background check. Her application listed her employment in college as a model for Swope LLC.
“She went to college in California. I don’t have the budget to fly there and physically talk to her college professors and past employer. I called the number listed for Swope LLC. I talked to the person listed as her supervisor; he verified the dates of employment. I asked about drug or alcohol use and he said she always talked about her policing dream so he never saw her use anything. I never thought to ask what kind of modeling she was doing.”
Officer Barnett did not intend to become Gabby Gazongas, she just fell into the job.
“I took a freshman art class. The instructor was recruiting for a senior level art class involving drawing nude people. There was pay and extra credit so I did it. In the class was a girl who said she was paying for art school by doing modeling, somewhat professionally, and told me I had the body to make money. I was young and dumb so I went with her to an audition. Next thing you know I am making thousands of dollars a day, by doing…well… you know what.”
Swope LLC is the front company that runs a number of popular Internet “reality porn” web pages. Gabby Gazongas was a popular personality on multiple of these pages. But she never made it to the big time mainstream DVD or BluRay market.
“I never figured that anyone would truly recognize me. As an officer I dyed my hair blonde and don’t wear any makeup. But some college kids at South Harmon Institute of Technology somehow figured out who I was. Somehow some kids figured me out, and now it is like an honor to be arrested by me.”
Officer Barnett who works on the midnight shift leads the city on OMVI arrests and drug busts. Drivers admit to being drunk once they see she is the officer who pulled them over.
“College students, business owners, and just your average dad, all blurt out an admission of being too drunk to drive when they figure out who I am. Being placed into handcuffs and frisked by someone who did porn is like some major deal to guys.”
Because the department has both squad cameras and body cameras the admissions are recorded. All these guys who forgo field sobriety testing due to a direct admission of guilt are all being convicted of DUI charges.
The chief while angry his officer once did porn, knows it is his own fault for not doing a solid background check. He also knows that she is getting twice as many convictions as any of her peers.
“She is knocking out the DUI and drug busts like I have never seen. I am not kidding she gets four to five drunk drivers a week. The local chapter of MADD has given her an award. There is no way I can hold this against her. Also a third of her DUI stops result in drug arrests. So the drug users are giving up their dealers. In the months since her past came to light this agency is making a killing in collecting fines and forfeitures.”
We talked some of the people she has arrested. None were willing to be named but they all basically said the same thing. “Dude, a porn star handcuffed me and touched my junk. It was worth the ticket.”
