City investigates spiked coffee leading to cops testing positive for drugs

Connorville police officials are investigating why over half the police force in their city tested positive for cocaine. The entire police force was tested after a non-stop deluge of anonymous complaints called and emailed into both the police department and city hall. All officers who tested positive are on administrative leave, including the chief.

Coffee CupActing Chief, Captain George Stacy, tells us that it appears to be a conspiracy against officers by a local barista. Something all the officers had in common was a daily trip to a local coffee shop called “Perky Percolators”, a coffee shop that has girls in bikinis serving coffee.

According to Captain Stacy, “Perky Percolators gives a 75% discount to police and fire personnel. Every officer with cocaine in his or her system, including the chief, was a regular at that coffee shop. We also found that Felicia Hardy, a barista there was busted about a month back for DUI and she was also in possession of cocaine.”

According to Captain Stacy, having the chief test positive was actually a blessing in disguise.

“The chief was known to walk across the street to that place up to three times a day. The trashcan in his office had a bunch of their cups in it. We were able to test the residue in the cups and find the ones that were positive for cocaine. Any cup that tested positive was then processed for fingerprints. Every cup in the chief’s trash that had cocaine residue inside also had Felicia’s fingerprints outside. Incidentally cups that tested clean did not have her prints.”

Captain Stacy also pointed out that Felicia Hardy was not a suspect until after her prints was found on the cups.

“Our investigation lead us to a suspect. All persons who tested positive provided statements detailing their daily activities, both on and off duty. Once we saw the theme of Perk Percolators, then we verified that theory by testing the coffee cups. Then the prints were found and the barista was identified.”

Because an outside agency is handling the investigation there is no word on if Felicia has given a confession or not. In addition that agency and the district attorneys office has declined to comment on the investigation.

Off the record we were told that all officers involved should be back to work shortly and none will be facing any disciplinary actions.
