For Years When you were good in FDNY You get a medal and a few extra dollars that came with that medal, but what did you get when you messed up? According to official reports and even a confirmation by Nyc’s fire commissioner bad firefighter’s got pay and sick and vacation days taken away from them as punishment.

FDNY
Well it appears a Judge agrees, A NYC arbitrator Judge ruled on Friday that taking pay or time from Firefighters is unfair and just plain Illegal! No Worries however, Headquarters has a back up plan!! From now on Bad and Misbehaved Firefighters will be removed from the Fire truck and Placed on FDNY’s Aging, understaffed Ambulance Fleet. Its a win, win for all cited The Head of the Firefighters union, who also refused to be named in this article. The firefighters of this great city look forward to helping their Fire Dept. brothers in blue on the EMS side.
When The alarm goes off at the firehouse and its a fire the Firefighters become sad and worried, I mean no one wants a fire too risky and with the new overweight recruits now they simply are worried that someone will get hurt at a fire. When its for a EMS assist, the firefighter are over joyed and even are seen jumping up for joy in the firehouse and saying ” yes” in a positive way. No one Minds the EMS runs, their a lot of fun and firefighter get to put their new medical training to use. Its not uncommon for fire trucks In Nyc to follow FDNY’s Ambulances around in their off time, just hoping to see them get a run and to follow them to help.
Even The EMS Union was in favor of this new rule, ” We can completely Cut Forced overtime”. While the 2 unions seemed to be in favor, some field personnel where skeptical. A FDNY Ambulance driver that also asked his name not be used who also tried to sell us a station shirt with a misspelling had this to say, ” they come to our EMS Station in Canarsie Brooklyn needing Medical supply’s all the time. While their a bunch of good guys, i’m not sure they Would understand how to operate a complex Ambulance like this one, but I don’t mind working with them since I want to get to know them as I will be going over to their side next year, I cant wait to be a fireman and help out with their station shirt productions.”
While no one really knows just how well the 2 sides will get along, everyone involved agrees that the Fire side loves EMS and EMS side of the Fire Dept. in Nyc loves the fireside so it should go over well. The new plan is set to go into affect October 21st and this reporter/writer will be in the field for comments from the field personnel on its first day.
