DOJ promotes new police nutrition pyramid

The department of justice wants to see more police officers make healthy eating decisions. So the DOJ recently worked with nutritional experts to make a police nutrition pyramid.

This new pyramid is a supplement to the standard food pyramid. A DOJ spokes person told the press. “This is not an all encompassing diet. This is not to tell officers what they can eat all day. This just shows Police officers how based on normal eating habit how they should be limiting certain things we all know cops tend to indulge in.”

According to this new guideline officers can only have one doughnut per day.

Also trips to fast food should be limited to twice per-day. It should be noted that the DOJ is suggesting that one fastfood trip should be to a sub shop if possible for a lower fat meal.

Snacks should be limited to three single serving snacks of typical gas station snack foods.

Lastly the DOJ recommends a limit of six caffeine drinks per day. The DOJ did add that Coffee is preferred over colas and energy drinks. In addition coffee is best when drank black with no sugar. The extra sugars and fats found in milk and most sweeteners are nothing but empty calories.

Creating this food pyramid aimed at police officers was due in part to a comment made at a Uniform manufactures convention. The key note speaker said how 10 years ago the average waist size for a cop was 34 inches. Today that waist size is up to 40 inches.

A spokesperson for the DOJ said this. “We are not saying that cops are getting fat. We just want to make sure that our best officers have the best tools to make the best decisions about the best foods to eat.”
