Aaron Rodgers sworn in as police officer, able to carry gun in game for protection

Aaron Rodgers is making his triumphant return as starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers in their game against the Chicago Bears. Rodgers received a broken clavicle earlier this season in a game against the Bears in Green Bay. Not willing to take any chances down in Chicago, Green Bay wants their star player armed.

The Green Bay police chief had this to say

“They play dirty down in Chicago. After our investigators looked over the film of the last Packers v Bears game we realized the injury was intention. There were multiple plays where it looked like the Bears wanted to physically hurt Packer players.”

Packers head Coach Mike McCarthy tells us the team looked into getting Rodgers a CCW permit. But the city of Chicago does not recognize CCW permits issued by Wisconsin.

“At a coaching staff meeting our head of team security said something about HR218. Apparently it is a federal law that allows a sworn cop to carry a weapon anyplace they want. So if we could get Rodgers to be a sworn police officer there would be nothing Chicago could do to stop him from protecting himself.”

At the conclusion of the meeting the security supervisor called up the Green Bay police chief. With in an hour they had Aaron Rodgers standing in the Chief’s office taking the Oath of Office. Right after that Rodgers was taken to the shooting range and shot the firearms qualification course.

According to a source at the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

“Yes Mr. Rodgers is a fully sworn police officer by Wisconsin standards. He has not completed the Academy class yet so he would not be allowed out on solo patrol. But he has passed a firearms qualification course so he is fully licensed to carry a gun. If he does not successfully complete a recruit academy within two years we will decertify him.”

The WI Department of Justice indicted that Rodgers is enrolled for an academy session in the spring of 2014.

As of press time the Chicago Bears and the City of Chicago were not willing to comment.
