Police officer arrests mother-in-law for DUI, divorce papers expected soon.

Officer Ted Kramer arrived home this morning to find his bags packed and sitting outside for him. In addition a note was on the door saying to go find someplace else to live. Apparently his wife took offense to Officer Kramer arresting her mom for drunken driving.

The officer tells us this arrest has been a long overdue. “For lack of a better term my mother-in-law is a socialite. She goes and hangs out at her country club playing cards with a number of other ladies. Which also involves them drinking martinis non-stop.”

Sources with in the police department confirm that Officer Kramer has been trying to convince his wife Joanna to do something about her mom’s drinking and driving. But it seems that Joanna feels he mother only ever has a few drinks and is not “that drunk”.

“On Sunday’s when I have the weekend off we always meet our in-laws for breakfast. My mother-in-law is always visibly hung over. There is no way she is only having two drinks, she is getting drunk. But anytime I bring it up I am told shut up. Apparently the last person to suggest she has a drinking problem got taken out of the her will.”

According to the entry in the CAD system the mother-in-law blew a 0.19 on the intoximeter. Joanna is also the person listed as posting bail and picking her mother up for the police department after processing the arrest.

“I did not see my wife when she came to pick up her mom. I was already back out in the squad car taking a call. I assumed she would be made, but kicking me out of the house, I did not see that one coming.”

Ted’s co-workers took up a collection and are paying for him to crash at a nice hotel in town.
