Police departments across the country are pulling patrol officers off the road. Police will still be on duty but will only respond to 911 calls.

Two firefighters who work for the Great Falls Fire Dept. both hired in 2008 are off the Job permanently today after testing positive for Marijuana. The un-named firefighters who are also volunteers for the Allenadge City Fire dept. are claiming the positive test is as a result of smoke inhalation from the recent fire at “Dr. Raggs Weed Dispensary.”

The Police Chief of a small Wisconsin Town of Plattburg received an unusual email earlier this week. A message saying his officers were to prevent the local movie theater from showing The Interview, or else. Now today this Chief found out what the "Or Else" was, his parking ticket database erased.

The Allenadge City fire department was called to a fire last night around 1 a.m. at the Dr. Raggs Weed dispensary. The Talmdale fire department initially assisted and additional manpower was later called in from several other area departments when the Battalion Chief reported the Fire was “So hot and really red.”

NYPD Commissioner William J. Bratton has announced all NYPD officers get to be on vacation for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Starting at 3pm December 24th police officers will go off duty and will not return to duty until 7am on December 26th.

The Fire service has been deeply rooted in tradition, for decades fire apparatus has been red adorned with gold lettering, in the 1970’s some departments experimented with “Lime Green” which was more of a safety yellow, was said to improve the recognition of fire apparatus in traffic thus preventing accidents and injuries. This trend sparked the great red/yellow debate.

Last year in Illinois a medical cannabis pilot program was created by legislation and signed into law by Gov. Pat Quinn. Now the Illinois police officer standards board is issues a policy to police chiefs, “officers shall use cannabis on duty”.
